TikTok has no support phone number and no support email address for the public. You reach it through forms, one per situation: Report a problem inside the app, the public web form at tiktok.com/legal/report/feedback, the appeal button under your account status, and separate desks for advertisers and sellers. This page gives you the right path and the real waiting time, case by case. If your account is fine and you mostly want traction, look at TikTok followers instead.
The channels that actually exist in September 2026
What does not exist wastes the most time. TikTok publishes no support line for individual users, and the generic addresses copied from blog to blog, the support@ kind, return an automated acknowledgement at best.
Four entry points are left:
- Report a problem in the app: your profile, menu, Settings and privacy, Report a problem. Replies land in your feedback history, never in your inbox.
- The public web form, which works without logging in, so it works with a banned account too.
- The appeal path, under Settings and privacy, Support, Safety Center: Account status for enforcement against you, Report records for reports you filed.
- Business desks and legal forms, handled by teams that sit outside moderation.
One detail every guide misses: “banned account” is not in the first menu. Checked on 10 September 2026, pick Account access / security and a second menu opens with Banned account, login issues, hacked account and the deletion requests. Tutorials that send you hunting for “account suspension” at the top level send you into a wall. And since the first reply is machine-generated, write short and factual.
Banned or suspended account
When enforcement lands, the app shows a banner with an appeal button. Use that first: it opens a case tied to your username, which no email will ever do.
- Tap Appeal on the banner, or go to Settings and privacy, Support, Safety Center, Account status.
- Pick the exact reason TikTok displays: a misfiled case goes to the back of the queue.
- Write three sentences: what the account posts, the penalty received, why it is wrong. Attach a screenshot.
- If the app will not open, use the web form and choose Account access / security.
You normally get one appeal per enforcement action, so nothing goes out half-written. The 2026 strike system works by category: a violation expires after 90 days, but several strikes in the same family inside that window mean a permanent ban. An agency trick worth knowing: appeal the video that triggered the penalty rather than the account, because the case is narrower and lands better.
@sandra_coachtiktok Appealing is the only serious route after a ban, and you get one shot at it.
Video removed or stuck at 0 views
A takedown triggers a notification with an appeal button. If it is gone: Safety Center, Account status, where every penalised video appears with its stated reason.
TikTok treats two cases differently. A removed video was judged against the rules, and the appeal either restores it or confirms the takedown within three days. A video marked ineligible for the For You feed stays on your profile without being distributed, and that decision is appealed from the same page. A video that stalls at a handful of views with nothing in Account status has nothing to do with moderation: ranking simply did not pick it up, and no form will change that. Do not delete it to repost it, because you lose the pending appeal and reposting reads as a repeat offence.
Hacked account, email and phone changed
The order of your moves matters more than the wording of your request, and the first hours decide everything.
- Search your inbox: TikTok warns you when the address or phone number changes, with a reversal link that stays live for a few days. Plenty of people miss it.
- Try signing in with Google, Apple or Facebook if one of them was linked. Attackers change the password without always cutting those routes.
- Keep the app open on your usual phone, since a live session still lets you take back the security settings.
- Otherwise, web form, Account access / security, with your original username, the one the attacker replaced it with, the old email, the old number and roughly when the account was created.
Whatever you do, avoid opening a fresh account with the same phone number: you detach that number from the pending case and recovery gets far heavier.
Someone is pretending to be you
A fake profile using your photo and handle follows its own procedure. Report it from the app first, on the profile itself: the three dots, Report, Report account, Pretending to be someone. Then file a written request at tiktok.com/legal/report/submit-requests, which also hosts the appeal if you were wrongly banned for impersonation.
It asks for readable photo ID and the full list of fake accounts, bundled into a single request. Screenshots are never enough on their own: you need the links, in the tiktok.com/@handle form.
@linstantmarketing A creator finds a fake account in her name sending private messages to her audience.
Getting someone else’s video taken down
When your video, your track or your artwork is reused without permission, reporting from the app will not do it. You need the copyright form, tiktok.com/legal/report/Copyright, which is public and works without a TikTok account: you declare yourself the rights holder, list the offending links and describe the original work. For a logo or a brand name, the trademark form applies instead.
An accepted notice pulls the video within 24 to 72 hours. The person targeted can hit back with a counter-notification: TikTok then passes you their contact details and you have 10 to 14 business days to file in court, otherwise the video returns. That is why abusive notices tend to backfire.
Money stuck in your balance
This is the first reason creators reach out, and most of the time nothing is actually blocked. The Creator Rewards Program totals earnings by month and pays around the 15th of the next one. A greyed-out withdrawal almost always points to a missing eligibility criterion: follower count, 30-day views under the threshold, a Business account instead of a Personal one, or a country that is not covered.
Three real holds do exist: a single video under review freezes the whole month’s payout for 7 to 14 days, stronger identity checks add a few days to a first withdrawal, and a missing tax form holds funds indefinitely with no explanation on screen.
Check Creator tools, Creator Rewards Program, then the balance tab, which states the reason for a hold. If nothing shows up after three weeks, the web form offers the Creator Rewards Program category, which is faster because it sits outside moderation. In the meantime, building reach with TikTok followers does more for your next payout than another follow-up.
Advertisers, sellers, agencies: the fast desks
Human support exists, and it is reserved for accounts that bring TikTok money.
- Advertisers. In Ads Manager, the blue bubble at the bottom right opens the Ad Assistant, then Get support connects you to an agent and opens a tracked ticket. The most reliable channel in the whole ecosystem.
- TikTok Shop sellers. Seller Center offers live chat, with agents reachable every day during business hours.
- Creators under agency. There is no dedicated line for an independent creator. Accounts attached to a partner agency go through their manager, who holds an internal channel, and that is the real difference in treatment.
A personal account, even at 500,000 followers, stays on the public forms.
Independent appeal and personal data
Once the internal appeal is spent, one route remains that almost no guide mentions. TikTok is designated a very large online platform under the EU Digital Services Act, so it has to cooperate with certified out-of-court dispute settlement bodies. The Appeals Centre Europe, based in Dublin and certified under Article 21 by the Irish regulator Coimisiún na Meán, reviews TikTok moderation disputes free of charge for residents of the Union, with a human decision in four to eight weeks. Across its first 1,500 rulings, more than three quarters of the platforms’ original decisions were overturned. Its opinion does not bind the platform, which still has to respond formally.
On personal data, the form at tiktok.com/legal/report/privacy covers access, a copy and deletion, with a one-month legal deadline; the controller in Europe is TikTok Technology Limited, in Dublin. Content illegal under EU law is reported in the app: Report menu, then Report illegal content. The page tiktok.com/legal/page/global/reporting-illegal-content lists what the report must contain. Paper mail only matters as a step before litigation, and the office addresses copied by customer-service directories are out of date. Same logic as at Meta, where we mapped these tiers for contacting Instagram.
Fake support and premium-rate numbers
A lost account makes people credulous, and an entire market lives off that panic.
- The fake TikTok number. Customer-service directories list lines presented as official support: one leads to a premium-rate directory enquiry service, another to a private firm, a third to a legal line the site itself marks as out of service.
- The account recovery guy. He promises an unban in 24 hours for 50 to 300 euros. He fills in the same form you would, or he walks off with the account you had left.
- The fake copyright warning. An email announces a violation and a ban within 24 hours, with a login link that harvests your password and your six-digit code.
One check settles it: TikTok answers you in the app, in your feedback history and in Account status. A message that appears nowhere in the app is fake, and no agent will ever ask for your password or an SMS code. The only useful numbers are national cyberbullying helplines, which are not TikTok but whose reports get priority handling.
The waiting times people actually report
These ranges come from user reports over the last few months, not from any official scale.
- Appeal on a removed video: a few hours to 3 days.
- Appeal on a ban: 24 hours to 7 days, often 2 to 5.
- Hacked account, web form: 5 to 15 business days, 3 to 7 for a business account.
- Impersonation: 48 hours to 1 week.
- Copyright takedown: 24 to 72 hours.
- Personal data request: up to 30 days.
- Advertiser or seller chat: a few minutes to 24 hours.
- Appeals Centre Europe: 4 to 8 weeks.
Follow up once a week at most: repeated submissions create duplicates that push everything to the back of the queue.
