They came in three waves, each set off by an image or a post, never by verified information.

1. Elsa Bois and Florent Manaudou: the Olympic swimming champion was Elsa Bois’s partner in the 2024 season of Danse avec les stars. Right after the breakup, X accounts claimed she had left Michou for him. Nothing backed that up at the time. The earlier version of this article even said the couple had “made it official” shortly after, which was wrong, as you’ll see below.
2. Michou and Lola Dumenil: in May 2025, a video shot at a party in Nice, where Michou appears close to Lola Dumenil, Florent Manaudou’s ex-partner, spread on X. People read it as revenge. Michou himself later spoke of “a little flirt” (NRJ, September 10, 2025), and nothing more.
3. Michou and Théodort’s ex: in June 2025, X accounts accused Michou of having had a relationship with the ex-partner of YouTuber Théodort, a longtime friend. That’s when the mocking nickname “Dark Michou” appeared, repeated in hundreds of posts and edits.

What is the haunted house story?

It’s a joke that started to look like evidence. In June 2025, posts on X claimed that Théodort’s ex-partner had talked about strange goings-on at their home to divert attention. Users turned it into a running gag: the “ghost” was supposedly named “Miguel”, Michou’s real first name. A post from June 11, 2025 jokes about a “so-called ghost named Miguel”.

To prop up the joke, many people dug out a Théodort post, “Ça me glace le sang” (“it makes my blood run cold”), with an image. It dates from October 30, 2022, more than two years before Michou and Elsa Bois split, and it mentions nobody. It couldn’t have been about this story. The “haunted house” was never a proven excuse: it’s a meme built after the fact.

The only reliable sources are their public statements, as reported by the press:

• Michou, February 2025: his side of the story, summed up as “it’s been several months” (AlloCiné, February 18, 2025), and the request not to make up rumors. In autumn 2025 he described “daily anxiety” caused by the cyberharassment that followed (Voici, October 17, 2025).
• Elsa Bois: in January 2026 she said she “couldn’t leave her home” because of the harassment during the previous season of Danse avec les stars (programme-tv.net, January 7, 2026).
• Lola Dumenil: she answered the rumors in September 2025, describing Michou as “the only person who could understand her” at the time (Yahoo, September 11, 2025).
• Théodort: I found no statement from him, reported by any outlet, confirming the June 2025 accusation. Gossip accounts on TikTok claim otherwise without citing a verifiable source.

What has happened since, up to 2026?

On January 21 and 22, 2026, two days before the new season of Danse avec les stars, Elsa Bois and Florent Manaudou appeared together at Paris Fashion Week. TV Magazine and Le HuffPost read it as making things official, while Paris Match called it a “shy” confirmation. In March 2026, asked about their relationship, the swimmer gave no clear answer (Purepeople, March 15, 2026). In other words, eleven months after the first rumors, nothing showed that a relationship existed at the time of the February 2025 breakup.

The harassment, though, never stopped. In July 2026, Closer was still describing the insults, sexism and threats aimed at Elsa Bois. The June 2025 rumor was never confirmed, but its effects are very real.
