“Roh roh” is the ad-lib of La Rvfleuze (often misspelled “La Rvfleuse”), a Paris rapper whose real name is Seny Bengaly. You hear it in the hook of “P.I.B”, released on May 4, 2025, and it took over French TikTok from summer 2025 onward: lives, duets, CapCut edits. The word means nothing. It’s a shout he drops at the end of a line, like a signature. Since then the rapper has released a debut album that went straight to number one in France in March 2026. If you want your own take on the sound to travel, a small push in TikTok likes helps it stand out.
Where does La Rvfleuze’s “roh roh” come from?
Who is La Rvfleuze?
Seny Bengaly was born on July 30, 2001 and grew up on boulevard Macdonald, in Paris’s 19th arrondissement, near Porte d’Aubervilliers. Football came first: he trained at Clairefontaine, France’s national academy, and in the AJ Auxerre youth setup (Actu Stars, April 13, 2026).
His rap career starts in May 2022 with “Serrure”, a series of freestyles posted on YouTube. He then spends two years in detention. His EP “EALS” comes out on July 12, 2024 while he is still inside, and he is released in March 2025. Speaking to French rap site Abcdr du Son (Brice Bossavie, March 5, 2026), he describes “18 months without visits”.
The song: “P.I.B”, May 2025
The track with the “roh, roh, roh” hook is called “P.I.B”. It came out on May 4, 2025 on his own label, Serrure Records, and runs barely two minutes. By early June, rap accounts such as @rap_new_s were posting clips tagged #pib. That’s the one embedded below.
The shout is older than the song, though. A clip shared by the account Wewer Tv in December 2022 already has it, with #rohroh in the caption. The gimmick was there, and P.I.B pinned it to a hook.
What about the story of the live with a girl?
The version you’ll read most often in comments describes a live duet: a girl who doesn’t know him asks who he is, he says he’s a rapper, she tells him to sing, and he lets out a “roh roh”. It’s a nice story, but no outlet has dated or sourced it. Treat it as hashtag folklore, not as fact.

How does the roh roh trend work?
There’s no dance. Roh roh works as sound punctuation, and it shows up in three kinds of videos.
- The edit: a footballer, a rapper or a friend in slow motion, with the “roh roh” landing right on the big moment. In mid-September 2025, CapCut templates tagged #rohroh flooded the For You feed.
- The live: streamers fire off the sound when a viewer sends a gift or when something absurd happens in a duet. The shout replaces applause.
- The parody: roh roh dropped into a situation that has nothing to do with rap, like the basketball parody by @rohvn.509 or a family dinner scene.
Same recipe every time: build-up, shout, cut.
Why did roh roh spread so fast?
It’s short. Two syllables, no lyrics to understand, and anyone can shout it, French or not. A meaningless gimmick travels further than a punchline you need to translate.
The artist was also rising at the same time as the sound. In 2025 he stacked features with Gazo (“KAT”), Leto and GIMS, and his Colors performance of “Argent Sale” brought in people who only knew the shout. Every new release pushed the hashtag again.
Then there’s the usual TikTok effect: a sound you recognise in the first second keeps people watching, and watch time is still the first signal the algorithm reads. To push a video into that wave, a few extra TikTok views at the start help it reach people outside your circle.
Where is La Rvfleuze in September 2026?
The TikTok shout turned into a career. In February 2026 he signed with Atlantic Records France. On March 27, 2026 he released “Numéro d’écrou” (“inmate number”), his debut album: 13 tracks, with Koba LaD, Gazo, Hamza and Freeze Corleone as guests.
The numbers followed. 20,577 sales in week one (Urbanhit), number one on the French SNEP chart two weeks running, which Musicbiz called rare for a debut. “Argent Sale” was certified diamond on May 11, 2026, and the album went platinum on June 29, 2026.
On TikTok, the videos I found cluster between June and November 2025, peaking in mid-September. In November the shout was still being used on Kylian Mbappé edits. Since then the sound mostly comes back when the artist is in the news.
Can a brand use roh roh?
Yes, carefully. The sound belongs to an artist signed to a major label, and business accounts don’t get TikTok’s full music library. Check that the sound is in the Commercial Music Library before using it in an ad or sponsored post.
Tone matters too. Roh roh comes from street rap and from a prison story the artist tells himself. A sports club, a football media page or a sneaker brand can use it on a spectacular play without sounding fake. A bank or a skincare brand shouting it over a promo will mostly get roasted in the comments.
Your roh roh edit deserves more than your friends?
A head start in likes gives your video the traction the algorithm needs to show it beyond your followers.
